Light without overheating

Indicative figures for thermally broken aluminium with solar-control glass. Exact values after the survey.

Glazing units

  • 1.0Ug Guardian Sun
  • 2.8Standard unit ≈ W/m²K

Glass accounts for 60–80 % of the window area. For the Algarve Guardian Sun is often optimal: less heat with good light.

  • We select the unit based on façade orientation, noise and solar requirements.
  • Laminated and solar-control options are available.

Common questions about aluminium

How does aluminium differ from PVC?

Aluminium gives a slimmer visible profile and larger glazed areas — suited to contemporary architecture and panoramas. PVC is usually warmer out of the box and more cost-effective on standard openings. The choice depends on the façade, sizes and thermal requirements.

What is a thermal break and why is it needed?

A thermal break separates the outer and inner parts of the profile so cold metal is less able to transfer temperature. For the Algarve this reduces condensation risk and helps maintain comfort in winter and summer.

What colours and finishes are available?

RAL powder coating, anodising and bicolour (different colour outside and inside). We choose the shade to match the façade and interior at the survey.

Are they compatible with roller shutters and fly screens?

Yes. At the survey we check the opening, opening type and fixing so roller shutters and fly screens work with the aluminium system.

When to choose aluminium

Aluminium is the right choice where slim visible profiles, large glazed areas and a contemporary façade are needed.

  • Villa & house

Clean façade lines and large glazed areas without heavy profiles.

  • Panoramic openings

Maximum glass and light — where the view matters.

  • Terraces & verandas

Sliding and corner solutions for access to the pool and garden.

  • Modern apartments

Minimalist look and slim profile for a contemporary interior.

Simple. Honest. Reliable.

  1. Enquiry & quote

You send a request — we clarify the brief, timing and systems, then prepare a preliminary estimate so you can compare scope and budget early.

  2. Site measurement

A specialist measures each opening — free depending on distance — then we send the final proposal with confirmed sizes, glass and hardware.

  3. Order & production

Signed order confirmation and the first 50% payment — only then does production start. We keep you informed on readiness.

  4. Install & handover

The second 50% is due when goods are ready. Then delivery, professional installation, acceptance and warranty support.
